New Landscaping

9 April 2014

We've spent the past few weeks working with Cody Ames of Ames Landscaping to implement part of the plan developed for us by Laura Kiper of Kiper Designs.
We love it!! It's great to sit on our front porch and truly enjoy how beautiful our yard looks.
Of course, most of the plants are very small at this point, but, in two or three years, it will be even better! When the crew was digging out some of the old plantings, we discovered some hyacinths near the mailbox and some daffodils in another part of the yard, so, we transplanted them to one of the new beds as well. Bonus!

In addition to the plantings, a retaining wall was built around the mailbox area. (Before, there was just a ring of rocks around it.) A drainage issue in the front was corrected, and a back patio was added, with a fire pit.

All of the front yard is finished now, except for getting the grass in our yard to look better (which Bob is working on). And, in the fall, we'll add a pergola over part of the patio and do the planting for the back and side yards. I can hardly wait!

It all looks lovely! You will get a lot of use out of that patio and fire pit. Congratulations!
