Chinese Heritage Night
14 January 2012
We went to a combo Chinese Heritage Night / Chinese New Year celebration at our community center. The food, provided by a local Chinese restaurant, was delicious! (Of course!!) And the entertainment was wonderful. There were a number of cultural dances from different parts of China, plus a beautiful songbird and a poetess. I liked hearing the poem in Chinese first, then, interpreted into English. Really lovely!
Some of the costumes not only represented different regions of China, but also different classes and time periods. We had a capacity crowd and enjoyed a delightful evening!
(Note: The photos were all taken with my phone, so the clarity is not what it could be, and some are blurry because of the movements associated with the dance.)
